Emil Nolde es uno de los más destacados pintores expresionistas alemanes. Sus intenciones eran provocar al espectador, generar un shock visual y emocional. Lo logró con esta receta: Pinceladas enfervecidas, figuras de rostros a modo de máscaras y la utilización de colores vivos y estridentes.
Su verdadero nombre era Emil Hansen. Estuvo muy influido por Vincent van Gogh, Edvard Munch y James Ensor.
El viaje que realizó a Nueva Guinea en 1913-1914 hizo que cristalizara en él un gusto por el arte tribal, que incluía tremendas distorsiones de las formas, modelos planos y violentos contrastes de color.
Cambió poco de estilo a lo largo de su carrera y se dedicó sobre todo a los paisajes y a las escenas de interior con figuras humanas. En 1941 los nazis le declararon artista degenerado y le prohibieron pintar. Sin embargo, algún tiempo después produjo un importante número de acuarelas y grabados expresionistas, estas fantásticas acuarelas las veremos más adelante.

y muy influido por gauguin!! el �ltimo cuadro es id�ntico a su "cristo amarillo", la verdad. yo me quedo con el expresionismo de schiele, de todos modos.
Raúl: para mí no es idéntico pero si creo que es influenciado por Gauguin en las exaltación del color. Schiele se caracteriza principalmente por un atormentado tratamiento del desnudo, brillante por cierto. Son dos distorsionadores de la realidad y cada cual a su modo y ambos inspirados en el "padre" Van Gogh...

hace daño con sus personajes "locos" pero NO.
quizá él tenía miedo hasta de si mismo.
